There are 42 million Americans who rely on SNAP (food stamps or FoodShare) to keep food on the table, including 700,000 Wisconsinites.
Food prices are still increasing, and many are struggling with the cost of living, including higher energy, health, and other costs.
Any Wisconsin residents in need may dial 211 (or 877-947-2211), visit
211wisconsin.communityos.org or feedingamericawi.org/find-a-pantry Each can connect you to food pantries and other food assistance in your area. Another resource is findhelp.org for free or reduced-cost resources like food, housing, financial assistance, health care, and more.
If you are able, money is always the best donation as many food pantries can buy in bulk for less. If you want to make other practical donations, please consider these items: peanut butter, almond butter, cereal, canned fruit, canned vegetables, whole grains (pasta, rice), canned protein (tuna, chicken, salmon, ham), canned beans (pinto, kidney, black eyed), baby items (diapers, wipes, formula), personal care items (deodorant, sanitary pads or tampons, toothpaste, toothbrushes).
